Golfing at Moora Lakeview

FOLLOWING the much needed rain our course is looking great and conditions were perfect for golfers at Moora Lakeview last Saturday.

14 ladies played stroke for the Moora Building and Timber Trophy and returning a consistant score of 70 nett was Margaret Nothdurft, breaking her handicap to 17.

Runner-up was Debbie Glover with 73 nett and gross winner on the day was Karyn Bryan with 91.

The novelties were won by Alison McPherson No2, Karyn Bryan No 4, Margaret Nothdurft No 11 and Debbie Glover No 14.

Best second on No 1 was Marion Attenborough and N. 13 Narelle Bein.

The Cousins putting competition was won by Alison McPherson with 25 putts.

On August 11 ladies play for the Patrons Trophy including the first round of championships, last round of Silver Spoon and International Bowl.

On Sunday August 12 we play for Desley Hannagan’s Trophy including the second round of club championships, times will be advised after play on Saturday.

21 men played stroke for the Hamilton Memorial Trophy and the winner on the day with a good score of 69 nett was Robert Nothdurft on a count back from David McGillivray.

Ian McGillivray returned 78 to win the gross.

The novelties were won by Clint McPherson No 2, Dave McQueen No 4, Brett Beard No 11 and Robert Nothdurft on No 14.

Best second shot No. 3 Nothdurft and best third Ian McGillivray.

The men’s club champion for 2012 is Ian McGillivray 243, runner-up Robert Nothdurft 246.

Winner of Division two Laurie Armstrong 260, Division three Dave Stribley 279 and Division four Phil Cartledge.

On August 11 the men play stablfeford for the Rural Maintenance Trophy.
