Former Moora resident in London Olympic equestrian team

FOR many, one of the Olympic Games’ most spectacular events includes the riders and horses tackling the cross-country phase of eventing.

Formerly a three-day event, it is now spread over four days and it is here that Australia has performed so well at previous Games.

Listing as his place of residence Moora, Clayton Fredericks, who lived here some time ago, is part of the Australian Equestrian team performing in London.

The team was second behind Germany after the dressage phase but fell to sixth after a disastrous day in the cross-country.

Fredericks and another Australian rider, Sam Griffiths, were eliminated after falling from their horses.
