RAC rescue chopper hard at work on the Turquoise Coast

THE RAC helicopter crew might have been left wondering whether they should be based at Jurien Bay last week as they attended one serious incident after another in the space of a few days.

It started with the death of surfer Ben Linden at Wedge last Saturday.

Sadly for all involved his body was not recovered, though the RAC helicopter joined other emergency services and police in an intensive search.

Three days later their efforts were followed up with a call out to a caravan rollover just south of Jurien on Tuesday.

Two people were trapped after the car they were driving rolled over at about 12.30pm.

A woman suffered a broken arm and head injuries in the crash, while her husband suffered only minor injuries.

Both were flown to Perth in the helicopter.

On Wednesday the chopper returned to the Lancelin area after a teenager was injured in an off-road motorcycle crash.

The helicopter was called to the accident site on Sappers Road at about 10.30am and flew the 13-year-old boy to Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital suffering a broken leg.
