During the evening of July 2 the driver of a road train carrying rolls of conveyer belts north along the Great Northern Highway lost control of his vehicle which ended in the truck rolling over.
Fortunately the driver suffered only minor injuries and no one else was hurt or injured.
The section of the highway approximately15 kilometres south of New Norcia was blocked for the majority of the night while salvage crews worked to remove the truck and its load from the roadway.
Police officers from several areas assisted in the road block with the road being re-opened at about 8.30am the following morning.
Police were alerted to a local female creating a disturbance at the Wongan Hills District High School on Monday morning.
The female was witnessed abusing and shouting obscenities at another female in an unprovoked attack as she dropped her child off at school.
Fortunately several witnesses contacted local police and the offender was apprehended and charged later that day.
Wongan Hills Police responded this week to numerous community complaints about a local youth riding an unlicensed motorbike through the streets of Wongan Hills.
After several near misses in apprehending the youth, police managed to catch him in the act on Monday afternoon.
Police seized the motorbike and the youth was subsequently charged with driving without a licence and with driving an unlicensed vehicle.
It is an offence to ride any motorbike that is not licensed or subject to a permit along any street, road, footpath or gravel road shoulder.
This act constitutes riding on a road and if caught you will be charged with the relevant offences.
On Saturday night two women’s handbags were stolen from the sports pavilion where a function was being held.

Over the past week local police have apprehended and charged a 41-year- old local female with disorderly conduct, a local juvenile with driving without a licence and driving (riding) an unlicensed vehicle, a 41- year-old local female with failing to appear in court, and a 14-year-old local female with aggravated assault and unlawful damage.
