IT WAS a fine and sunny day after the beautiful but late seasonal break at the Moora Lakeview Golf Club last Saturday.
A good field of 40 men and women lined up for a fourball best ball Stableford.
Golfers travelled from as far away as Cervantes to join the locals in vying for the Retravision prizes.
Good golf was played on the day with 14 birdies and an eagle by new golfer Gus Forbes.
The winners on the day with a good score of 50 points were Michael Duck and Lenny Humphrey.
The runners-up were David Glover and Gus Forbes on 49 points and the third placegetters were Murray Douglas and Tim King on 47 points.
The best golf of the day was played by a partnership, which was rendered ineligible by one of the partners not having a handicap.
Leigh Manning and Wade Stokes scored 51 points with a fine display of golfing prowess.
Nearest the pin on 2 were David McGillivray and Alison McPherson, 4 were Murray Douglas and Mary McGillivray, 11 were Richard Passimani and Edna Tripp while David McGillivray again won on 14 with Janet McClean.
Other novelties were a long drive on 9 for Clint McPherson for the men and Debbie Glover for the women.
Next week’s fixtures will be the Ray White Real Estate Stableford for men and women.
Names need to be in by 12pm, teeing off from 12.15pm.
For those wishing to travel for the open days, the Dandaragan open day is being held this Saturday.
