SKILL HIRE, on behalf of BHP Billiton Iron Ore, is currently recruiting Indigenous candidates for haul truck operator roles at its Yandi, Mining Area C and Eastern Ridge mine sites in the Pilbara.
An Indigenous community information session will be held to provide more information about job opportunities through Kworp Kooling, the training that will be provided, rosters, benefits and what a career with BHP Billiton Iron Ore can offer.
As part of this initiative, successful candidates will receive training in Certificate II in Surface Extraction.
This will provide specific skills related to mine site safety and haul truck operations.
It is a residential program that will require living away from home during the training period (Monday to Friday).
Participants will receive a training wage for the duration of the training.
Upon successful completion of the behavioural and technical elements of the training program, candidates will be offered employment with BHP Billiton Iron Ore.
The company is looking for Indigenous people with a strong work history, commitment to health and safety, a current full C-class driver’s licence and seeking a career in mining.
Those unable to make it to an information session can still register an expression of interest by emailing the attached form and resume to bhp-operators@skillhire.com.au or contact Anthony on 0406 460 275 or Nathan on 0448 919 188.
