THE West Midlands Group has announced that Bill Bowden has agreed to be an ambassador for the group.
Mr Bowden is a legendary expert on soils and nutrition which is a perfect fit for this region.
He will be sharing his years of wisdom at major events such as Crop Updates, the Spring Field Day and the next field walk at Ferret McAlpine’s on June 20.
Mr Bowden has more than 40 years’ experience with plant and soil research, development and extension with the Department of Agriculture and Food WA.
He has a BSc (Agric) (UWA 1965) and a PhD in soil chemistry (UWA 1973).
He has been awarded the Reserve Bank fellowship on fertiliser dissolution, placement and effectiveness (1980), Donald medallist (2006) and Grains Research and Development Corporation Seed of Light award (2009).
