CENTRAL Midlands Netball Association has ended its 2011 competition with grand finals held on Friday, December 2.
This year CMNA had over 200 players,
On Thursday afternoons there were 40 kids participate in the first Net Set Go program run by Jenny Sinclair and Tracey Errington.
Seven teams played the sub junior competition with Dandaragan finishing on top.
Senior and junior netball had 13 teams start off the competition.
At the association’s wind up awards night the following awards were presented:
B Grade - Highest goal scorer: Emma Dennis (Sapphires), runner-up fairest and best: Amy Ridgway (Fury) and fairest and best: Erin Bryan (Fury).
B Grade premiers were Fury who defeated Schoolies. Mikaela Glover (Schoolies) was named fairest and best in the grand final.
A Reserve - Highest goal scorer: Naomi Douglas (Eagles 2), runner-up fairest and best: Lucinda Ryan (Eagles 2) and fairest and best: Ashley Warrell (Redbacks).
A Reserve premiers were Eagles 2 who defeated Redbacks.
Tammy Ryder (Redbacks) was named fairest and best for the grand final.
A Grade - Highest goal scorer: Alice Prior (Blue Tangs 1), runner-up fairest and best: Avril Newbold (Pinks 1) and fairest and best: Kym King (Eagles 1).
A Grade Premiers were Pinks 1 who defeated Blue Tangs 1.
Rebecca Kelly (Pinks 1) was named fairest and best for the grand final.
President Julia Greay awarded Kathy Cousins a life membership to the association for her outstanding contribution for over the last 10 years.
Greay has nominated Karen Deane for a life membership with Netball WA for her outstanding contribution, not only to CMNA but to the Wheatbelt Region of netball.
Greay and secretary Janette Pratt, who have held their positions for the last four and five years respectively, will both stand down to make way for the new committee.
