Bradford successful at memorial

08 Dec, 2011 04:00 AM
AFTER two years of bad luck Shaun Bradford has taken out the race that honours his father, the Bonza Bradford Memorial at Pithara Speedway.

Bradford won the first heat of the night and gave the crowd a taste for what was to come.

An oil leak caused the car to catch fire on the infield and the crew knew they were in for a big night.

Bradford led the 20 lap feature race finishing first with Jason Kendrick in second place followed by Ryan Farrell in third.

Casey Bradford fought hard all night finishing the feature in fourth place.

Best presented race team for the night was awarded to team Bradford.

The night was supported by the Formula 500’s who put on a fantastic show with 26 cars in the feature.

The feature race was won by David Sinagra and in second Travis Bell followed by Aaron Higgins in third.

The race was contested over 20 laps but not without some mishaps with a pile up of cars in turn one at the start.

The 360 sprintcars completed the program with 18 cars contesting round two in the 360 Power Series.

Winner of the feature was Daniel Hawkins, finishing second was Cale Sotiroff and Jodi Waldren was third.

Overall the event was a success with lots of spills and thrills to please the 400 plus spectators.

The next race meeting is in February next year.
