Mixed pairs championship success

02 Feb, 2012 02:36 PM
LAST Sunday 10 pairs took part in the Moora Bowling Club’s mixed pairs championship event sponsored by Tich and Lynlee Murray of Murray’s Transport.

After completion of the round robin event the clear winner was the partnership of Jim Pond and Pam Kelly with three wins.

Runners-up with two wins, after a countback from four other pairs, were Colin and Robbie Gardiner.

“Although conditions on the day were a little windy, it kept us cool and bowlers had an enjoyable day,” men’s captain Bill Hobden said.

Following the completion of the championship fellowship and dinner followed.

Corporate bowls starts this week and will be played on Wednesday and Thursday nights for the next four weeks to be followed by a one night final.

A popular competition, this year 32 teams have entered.
