z Moora swimmers do well
LAST Saturday the Moora Swim Club hosted its Open Sprint Carnival which was an overwhelming success.
On the day they held a ‘Dash for the Cash’ competition where the swimmers nominated themselves and then 12 swimmers’ names were pulled out of a hat to compete in a handicap swim.
The weather held off for an enjoyable day that resulted in many breaking their personal best times and winning medals.
Clubs came from as far as Mackay, Queensland, Geraldton, Narambeen, York and many Perth Clubs to compete.
The pool facilities were in excellent condition and many of the visiting clubs commented on the quality of the water and facilities.
New shades were fitted in time for the event with thanks to the Drug Action Group and Moora Shire for their generous donations that were used to purchase three new shades.
Thank you to all the volunteers who helped make the swim meet a huge success.
Because of them an enjoyable day was had by all.
The day was a springboard into Country Pennants, which will be held in Northam this upcoming long weekend.
Moora Swim Club will be one of only two country clubs with two teams competing in A- and D-grade.
