CENTRAL Midlands won “E” Section at this year’s CSBP Junior Country Week Cricket Carnival, held in Perth from January 4 to 8.
Coach Steve Gilbert said it was a “great team effort” as the team was selected from boys in the Central Midlands, South Midlands and North Midlands regions, and had not played together before.
“The majority of the team were 13 and 14 year old boys with one 15 year old and one 12 year old.
“I would like to thank all the parents who attended the week and supported the players and offered assistance when necessary.
The players who represented Central Midlands were Jacob Hyde (Dalwallinu), Maiden Gilbert (Moora), Will Roe (Gingin), Jack Lefroy (Moora), Charlie Lefroy (Miling), Matthew Humphrey (Miling), Hayden Watts (Carnamah), Ryan Nielsen (Watheroo), Jade Glover (Watheroo), Caleb Furnace (Dandaragan), Lewis Roe (Gingin) and Fraser Gilbert (Moora).

Monday January 4 - Central Midlands, 9-126 (J Glover 30, R Nielsen 20, M Humphrey 18no) defeated Northam No. 2, 94 all out (H Watts 3-6, W Roe 3-12, C Lefroy 2-8).
Tuesday January 5 - Central Midlands, 7-141 (C Lefroy 30, W Roe 21, J Glover 20 ) defeated Mt Barker No. 2, 86 all out ( L Roe 3-8, J Hyde 2-9, J Glover 2-10).
Wednesday January 6 - Central Midlands, 115 all out (W Roe 39, C Lefroy 16, L Roe 14) lost to Wickepin, 7-215 (K Furnace 2-13, K Gilbert 1-15, J Lefroy 1-21).
Thursday January 7 - Central Midlands, 9-108 (W Roe 31, K Gilbert 19 ) defeated Busselton- Margaret River No. 3, 91 all out (J Glover 3-12, M Humphry 2-7, R Neilsen 2-15).
Friday January 8 - Central Midlands, 7-140 (W Roe 50, J Hyde 38, K Gilbert 11) defeated Albany No. 3, 57 all out (J Lefroy 3-4, M Humphry 2-7).
Junior country week cricket will again be held in the first week of January 2011 when all interested players will be welcome.
