THE Co-operative Bulk Handling Group officially unveiled the $8.5 million upgrade to its Moora facility last Wednesday at an early morning breakfast gathering.
Moora grain receival point now has greater efficiencies with the installation of four new 30,000 tonne open bulkhead storages with loading capabilities of 500 tonnes per hour.
In addition, the $8.5 million dollar upgrade in Moora includes a new 36 tonne weighbridge, double-sided sample platforms and new road works to improve traffic flow which will create smoother operations this harvest.
CBH Group chairperson Neil Wandel said, “The CBH Group’s focus remains on providing the very best storage and handling network for the growers of Western Australia while keeping charges as low as possible.”
“That’s why we’ve committed more than $54 million in capital expenditure to improve the receival network at Chadwick near Esperance, Moora, Dowerin and Brookton in time for harvest.
“Improving the grain receival network for growers reflects CBH’s commitment to growing value for growers despite the difficult cost environment.”
The $8.5million dollar investment in Moora is the first part of additional infrastructure investment to follow.
Moora Shire president Sheryl Bryan said the upgrades to the grain facility is a fantastic improvement.
“We are delighted to have this facility in our great town and are appreciative of the faith CBH have in the Moora region to commit to this upgrade, and the planned future investment,” she said.
“CBH’s positive commitment sends a very clear message that they have confidence in Moora’s sustainability as a grain producing area and growth as a regional centre.”
