SOLAR energy opportunities for the Wheatbelt will be discussed at a workshop on Friday, January 25 in Dalwallinu.
The Energising the Wheatbelt group has been invited to attend the workshop, which will also feature guest speakers.
“One of the topics to be discussed at the workshop will be a project plan for the location of concentrated solar energy in the Wheatbelt,” Energising the Wheatbelt chairperson Kylie Whitehead said.
Dr Des Lemann from Western Power and Matthew Tonts will be the guest speakers for the topic.
Mr Tonts is the senior project officer with the Economic Regulation Authority and also lectures at Murdoch University on the subject of economics of sustainability.
This workshop has been organised by the Wheatbelt Development Commission and the State Department of Planning and Infrastructure with the Central Midlands Voluntary Organisation of Councils as part of an ongoing process that has been developed over the past few months.
CMVROC comprises the shires of Dalwallinu, Moora, Wongan Hills, Chittering and Victoria Plains who work strategically for the benefit of all the councils involved for the ongoing growth and sustainability of the region.
