THE Moora Fine Art Society’s first exhibition for 2010 will be this Friday, February 5, at 6pm.
Dandaragan artist Amanda Lin has been busy this week building structures from sticks and newspaper for her “Roomscape” installation at the gallery.
Amanda works with “found” materials because she enjoys the nurturing process that gives them new life as an artwork.
“For the exhibition, I am constructing an arrangement of surfaces and textures that reflect relationships between the human form and our built and natural environments,” she said.
The simple techniques that Amanda is using to weave newspaper into mats or baskets and wire sticks together are easy to learn.
She will be available at the gallery to teach these methods to anyone who is interested from 10am until 4pm, Thursday to Saturday, from February 5 to 13.
The Moora Fine Art Society is highly regarded in the art circles of WA and is known as a progressive artistic group.
