EMILY Brown started her 30-month apprenticeship at the Hair Shoppe in February, but before she could start she completed a two-year course in just one year through TAFE Polytechnic West.
She now has a certificate II in hairdressing.
Being qualified to assist Hair Shoppe owner Dianne Pries in all the day to day jobs at the salon, Emily is enjoying the learning experience and said her favourite part of the work was blow-drying hair.
When she was in year eight, Emily decided that she wanted to do hairdressing and started to pursue her dream as a career.
Ms Pries said Emily fits in nicely at the salon.
“She is very good with the clients and she is a very loyal, trustworthy person with a lovely personality,” Ms Pries said.
Emily likes learning how to do hairstyles and creating new ones and is hoping to have hairdressing as a career for a long time.
“Over the past 25 years I have had five apprentices and Emily will be my last,” Ms Pries said.
