MARIJUANA plants valued at more than $5,000 were seized from a Watheroo residence by Moora Police last week.
Police are questioning a man over the stash and hydroponic set up, which was anonymously reported to police.
A crossbow was also seized from the property; crossbows are controlled weapons and people require a permit to keep one.
Four large plants measuring over one metre in height were seized, along with 10 smaller plants when police executed their search warrant.
The fairly new hydroponic set up took up two rooms in the home and included equipment such as ventilation, tubs and lighting as well as chemicals and fertilisers for the plants.
This latest haul is the result of an intense program undertaken by Moora Police to stamp out drugs in the community.
“This seizure was part of our on going fight against drugs in the Moora and surrounding communities,” officer in charge of Moora Police Station, Harry Arnott said.
“This is just the tip of the iceberg and we are making a concentrated effort in relation to the use and supply of illicit drugs in the Moora sub-district.
“It is our intention to actively target and prosecute members of the community who are involved in the drug trade.
“We appeal to members of the community who have concerns or knowledge of drug use or supply, to contact the Moora Police on 9651 1106 or Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.”
